HEALTHY GARLICKY FLAX SPICED TEMPERED RICE

A hearty and delicious stir fried rice recipe, flavored with flax seeds spice mix, loads of garlic.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups Cooked rice
  • 3 tbsp Flax seed spice mix
  • ½ tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Red chilli powderSalt to taste⅛ cup Green peas1 stick Lotus root Sliced4 Garlic cloves1 tbsp Cilantro finely chopped2 tbsp Oil
  • 1 tsp Red chilli powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 4 Garlic cloves
  • 1 tbsp Cilantro finely chopped
  • ¼ tsp Mustard seeds
  • ½ tsp Cumin seeds
  • 8-10 Curry leaves
  • 2 tbsp Oil

Instructions

  • Heat a wok, add oil and once its hot add in mustard seeds, cumin seeds, sliced garlic, curry leaves and fry for a minute until garlic turns golden brown.
  • In a mixing bowl add cooked rice, spice mix, chilli powder, salt, turmeric powder and mix until everything is completely incorporated.
  • Now add in spice mixed rice to the tempering, give a nice stir. Cover and cook for 5 minutes on medium flame.
  • Finally add in chopped cilantro and serve warm.

  • You can substitute the rice with millets or quinoa or cauli rice to make it diet friendly.
